No! GPFFL is a flag football league meaning that no one is going to tackle you. Each player wears a belt containing flags, to "down" another player you pull these flags to take their belt. There is still contact within this league due to the nature of the game, but no one will tackle you and we strive to make sure there's no egregious contact. Our league put each player's safety (physical, emotional, or otherwise) in the highest possible regard.
We ask that members wear pants or shorts with NO pockets to each game. other than that just bring a good attitude. GPFFL will provide flags to borrow before each game but you are welcome to bring your own, if you have them.
Yes! GPFFL allows and encourages players to play as the gender in which they self-identify. On top of this, GPFFL works to provide a welcoming and inclusive enviorment as outlined in our mission statement and vision for the league.
In the spirit of inclusion and competition, GPFFL hosts a draft where players are drafted by captains onto new teams each season. This promotes community as you get to meet and play with new players every season!
You don't need to! GPFFL prides itself on being an inclusive environment regardless of athletic skill or knowledge of the game. We also host a new player clinic to bring new people into the league, and introduce them to the game.
